I hoped that a benevolent dream

I hoped that a benevolent dream
would take me with you, to run through fields of flowers,
to fly with flocks of colourful butterflies,
and buzzing bees sucking nectar from the flowers
and hold your hand without speaking;
the expression eludes a thousand questions,
speaks of love, of caresses and satisfying flowerings
of deep desires.
If such a benevolent dream ever came to me, I would give you it,
so that in your dream, holding my hand, you can run
through red poppies and daisies, fly among white clouds
and read in my expression things that I will never dare say
